Weighing In

So, I have been super sick the last few days and still feel horrid today so you will have to forgive me for this post being short and sweet. Hopefully I will be back to my normal self tomorrow!

I was down a pound again this week to put me at a total loss of 86.2 pounds, 176 even. SO close to 90 pounds a day off work that is just for me and not because I am sick!

We are now on week 4 of P90X3 which is a transition week, meaning we have less cardio and more balance, stretch, and strength this week. Which I guess is a good thing since I have been so sick! We are getting to try some new workouts this week so I will have a run-down for you when the week is over! Looking forward to some new stuff this week and getting started on block two next week!

Hope you all had a great week!

Oh, one more quick thing. P90X3 and T25 Challenge Packs are both on sale for the rest of this week and then go back up to regular price. So, if you wanted to try either of these now is really the time to do it! Message me for details!

Non-Scale Victories

I have been so excited for Thursday to get here all week so I could share my NSV with you all! I am pretty proud I haven't already blogged about it!

So, this last weekend I had a three day weekend and decided that I was going to put that extra time to good use and finally go through every piece of clothing hanging in my closet and get rid of everything that is now too big. I started with my pants and this is what I was able to clean out...

There are also a couple of dresses and a skirt in there. One of the dresses I wore to my homecoming dance my junior year of high school! It felt AMAZING to put it on and have it be too big!

After cleaning out my pants I realized it left me with 2 pairs of work pants so I went to a local thrift store to get some new pants. I took about 8 pairs into the dressing room and realized that every single pair was a size too big! Again, nice feeling! So, I started over with a new size and ended up finding four nice pairs of work pants and a plaid shirt, which I have been wanting for a while now.

The next day I tackled the top half of my closet, which is the majority of my tops and this is what it looked like when I was done...

That empty half used to be full of clothes! So, the next day I decided I better finish it up in style and go through my sweaters and long sleeve clothes. I kept a couple big sweaters just because they are nice to have during the cold winter weekends. When I finished this is what it looked like...

All of those hangers used to have clothes on them! Those clothes are now in four piles on top of the dog kennels! Now I just need to go through them and see what I can consign and what needs to be donated. I cannot believe how many of my clothes don't fit me anymore. I am pretty proud of how far I have come and I can't wait to get to my goal so I can fill those hangers back up with new clothes that fit!

Oh, I also cleaned out my shoes because a bunch of those don't fit anymore. I think that was probably harder than the clothes part. I love my shoes.

What was your NSV this week?

Weighing In and a Recipe

Happy Wednesday everyone! Seems like this last week just flew by! I got to spend some extra time at home with James this past weekend and it was just what this Mama needed! I love that kid so much! He is my light!

Anyway, on to the weigh-in. I was hoping for a bigger loss this week but I have to remind myself that as I get closer to my goal weight my rate at which I am losing is bound to slow down. But, I did lose 1.2 pounds which is nothing to sneeze at and brings me to 85.2 pounds lost! I have a doctor appointment in two weeks and it is my hope that I will be far enough into the 170's by then that it will show on the scale when I am fully clothed. It is funny that I now look forward to that part of the doctor appointment. I went into a doc-in-a-box the other day because it was the weekend and my wrist had been bothering me. I don't go to them often so the lady does my weight and height and says, "Well you didn't shrink so that is good. Wait...you DID shrink! You shrunk A LOT!!!" It was pretty awesome! Anyway, I digress, I am at 177 this week and ready to rock another week of P90X3. Hard to believe that next week is already week 4!

All of the Beachbody Challenge Packs come with a nutrition guide. I have pulled bits and pieces out of all the guides we have but am thinking that as I get closer to my goal I am going to try following the guidelines set out specifically in the P90X3 guide. It is a lot of macro counting so I am hoping it isn't overwhelming but I want to try it for a couple weeks and see if it makes a difference!

Okay, one last thing before I let you all go. I tried a new recipe last week and it was to die for so I figured I better share it with you all. Here is the link Spaghetti Squash Primavera it is from skinnytaste.com. Not all of her recipes are clean but this one certainly was, and yummy to boot! AND, James liked it so really it is a win all around! Go check it out and let me know what you think! Here is a pic of mine!

Seriously, try this! You will thank me for sharing it!

Weighing In

Well, it is time to weigh in again and I was happy to see that while I was up a tiny bit from Monday I am still down 1.8 pounds this week! That puts me at 178.2, I don't honestly remember the last time I was below 180. I remember many times in the past when I would start a "diet" and tell myself that if I got to 180 I would be happy at that weight. I told myself that because I never honestly thought I would ever get to that weight let alone anything lower than that. It is amazing to me how different this journey has been from any other. From the start I have known that I want to be at 150, that is mid-way through the healthy range for my height. No more settling for less than what I deserve for this girl!

Also, last week I told you that I was able to see some changes just from December to January and I am happy to share those pictures with you today.

I also was looking at the changes in my back from the start of Combat in July to the start of P90X3. I must say I was pleasantly surprised!

I still have 28 pounds to go but I am so happy with how far I have come! How was your week?

P90X3 Week One Review

https://teambeachbody.com/checkout/-/bbcheckout/challengepack?referringRepId=285113

Okay, I have successfully completed the first week of P90X3 and while it was HARD it was also phenomenal. My official weigh-in day is Wednesday but I stepped on the scale this morning just to see where I was and I am down just a little over 2 pounds this week! Of course I will wait until Wednesday for the official number but I was pretty stoked! So, here is a run down of what the week looked like (and the next two weeks as well).

Monday - Total Synergistics - This is a total body workout and WAY less cardio than I am used to after doing Combat and Insanity. At first I was disappointed by the lack of cardio but by the end I could truly feel the workout in my arms and core as you use both your body weight and actual weights throughout. Overall I liked this first workout.

Tuesday - Agility X - Now, this was a challenge! At the beginning he has you place tape on the floor and mark it up with x's then you use those during the workout to lunge or jump or do whatever it is Tony wants you to do from one x to another. It was crazy hard but I felt SO good when we were done. I cannot wait to get the hang of it so I can push my body further and move my two pieces of tape further apart!

Wednesday - X3 Yoga - This was my first experience with Yoga and I must say I loved it and needed it after days one and two (my body may have been hurting a bit...okay a lot!). This is another one that I am looking forward to learning so that I can master the moves and get more out of it. There is this one move, Ted's Chair, oh my goodness...I don't know that I will ever be as good as the guy doing this move but it was impressive and I have talked about it daily since then.

Thursday - The Challenge - Let me just say, this is exactly what it is called. It was challenging to say the least. It is ALL push-ups and pull-ups (or modified pull-ups with resistance bands in my case). At the beginning you pick a number of push-ups and a number of pull-ups and you strive to hit those each time. I picked 20 push-ups and 15 modified pull-ups. I found 15 was too low and moved it up to 20 (will increase again this week) but man 20 push-ups was killer by the end. You move through doing different versions of each of these moves until the last three minutes when you start burnout. For this you do one pull-up and three push-ups over and over again as fast as you can for the full time. It was crazy and awesome!

Friday - CVX - Weighted Cardio...let that sink in...yes, weighted cardio. You hold a weight of your choice through pretty much every single move. This one was by far my favorite and I cannot wait to get better and choose a heavier weight!

Saturday - The Warrior - Apparently this one was created by Tony to do when he visits military bases. Let me just say you can tell this was created for athletic people. It was hard but it was awesome! This one truly is a full body workout you do four different exercises each time an upper body, core, cardio, and plyometric legs. It was tough but great!

Sunday - Dynamix - This is an optional day, you can just rest but we wanted to do the week in full so we pushed play and boy am I glad we did! It is all stretch and strength and while it is hard and requires some serious core strength it was also awesome to stretch some of the aches and pains from the first week out!

All, I can say is that I cannot wait for weeks two and three to see just how much I improve with these seven workouts before adding some new things in!

I do have a new challenge group starting on January 27th if you want to give P90X3 or any of our other programs a try! Both P90X3 and T25 are on sale this month to help you move past the time issue!

Some Progress Pics

So, as you all know I started P90X3 on Monday and have been loving it so far. But, I have been putting off taking my Day One pics simply because I was sure they wouldn't be any different from my final Insanity pics. I mean, yeah I lost some weight and inches over the holidays but I didn't "FEEL" any different so they wouldn't be different right? Well I was wrong, it wasn't a huge change but it was a change. Sadly I don't have the picture I need with me right now so I will have to post it another time. But, here is a comparison starting from March 2013 to my first day of Combat to last night!

I am so glad I have taken these pictures along the way to document my journey! So, I guess my NSV this week is taking my Day One pictures even when I didn't want to!

Also, we did X3 Yoga last night and it was pretty awesome. I can't wait to learn the moves well enough that I can focus on mastering them! Why on earth did I wait so long to try yoga?

Weigh-In Wednesday

Well, I was hoping to have a new decade to share with you all today but alas I was just shy. I still lost a pound this week to put me right at 180 and exactly 30 pounds away from my goal weight. Which also means I now officially weigh less than my husband for the first time in the almost 9 years we have been together! That is an awesome feeling!

I was proud of myself for letting go just enough during the holidays to not feel guilty when enjoying a treat or two but not so much that I gained. I actually lost over the holidays for the first time in, well probably forever! I think it really helped to have my Healthy Holiday Challenge Group going to help hold me accountable.

Speaking of Challenge Groups, I just started P90X3 on Monday and so far I am really enjoying it. The first day was more strength and balance focused and then yesterday was sports type drills requiring precision and accuracy. I loved them both but the second day (Agility X) is my favorite so far! I seriously love that all the workouts are just 30 minutes long. I can't wait to see what the next 90 days bring.  Let me know if you want any info on P90X3!

Day One of P90X3 done!

Linking up with Heather and Ash for Weigh-In Wednesday!
